Tab #1

I decided to call this life recap blog series ‘Tabs’— like when you keep tabs on something or someone. Here are my updates from this week:

How’s life?

Been rough but we managed to make it through! CSB is no joke.

Tabs:

  • I got into Texas Product Catalyst! It’s a relatively new student organization on campus focused on up-skilling and community in product management. Excited to see what it holds. :)

  • I wasn't as active as I should have been in Texas Taekwondo this week, but my attendance picked up by the end of it. I learned about the importance of the realness of checks (feints).

  • In CSBA, we announced the freshman representative for the 2024-2025 school year after a very close election!

  • In Project Advance Austin, I helped my teams turn their goals into tangible deliverables. I haven’t gotten the chance to do that yet before, so I thought that was pretty cool.

Something you learned this week?

After attending Elevate @ Duolingo, I learned that I would probably love to work for them!

Something you need to work on for next week?

I need to work on task prioritization. I got considerably sad working on my programming project this week, but I can’t let that discourage me for next week; I just have to keep going.

What are you most proud of doing last week?

I’m proud of showing up to Saturday’s taekwondo practice. I stayed from 12PM to 4PM.

What ability or skill did you use to make that moment the most proud of?

Determination made that moment the most proud of this week. I felt tired and unmotivated, but I recognized that it was good for me and pushed through.

What impact did you have on other people this week?

I’d like to think that I impacted some beginners positively this week at Texas Taekwondo. I helped out at beginner’s class again by doing several drill demonstrations with the coach and giving positive and constructive feedback to the newcomers if I partnered with them.

Highlight of the week?

It was either seeing my mom after she flew back to the states from the Philippines or going to a friend’s birthday party.
