Media Batches

Computer Science & Business Association ✦ Summer 2024 — Present

Skills: Canva, Time Management, Communication, Collaboration

Key Objectives

  • Batch social media content for CSBA so that our team of directors can focus on planning and logistics during the school year

  • Give CSBA a professional, organized appearance both internally for members and staff and externally for sponsors

  • Apply previous graphic design experience to current project

Project Description

One of CSBA’s primary communication channels is Instagram. As Director of Communications, part of my duty is to keep all members informed of events. Therefore, over the summer, I created batches of Instagram announcement posts using Canva so that my fellow officers and I could focus on our courses and responsibilities for the fall and spring semesters.

I drew inspiration from existing Canva templates and then designed some of my own, keeping to the original CSBA color scheme and readjusting the feel of each post series based on its topic. For example, I wanted the Big Little posts to be appear warm and friendly, so I used rounder fonts and softer illustrations. In contrast, all of the corporate and networking-related posts feature more distinct lines and sharper fonts throughout the designs to give it a formal, professional tone. Some of the provided Canva templates are well-made, so I’ll use those instead and customize it for CSBA. The only post of that sort on this page is the ‘Welcome Back Lunch’ post, but in this instance, I altered the template design so much that it looks quite different from the original.

Below is a gallery of some but not all of my original designs for CSBA for the 2024-2025 school year. I also included 3 slides from the Fall Kickoff General Meeting presentation that I made, which features a basic but more formal feel. I intend to make more slides and posts in the near future!
